Trust is sacred. FreeFund charges a 0% mandatory platform fee on campaign contributions and uses Stripe Connect to process payments and transfer campaign funds to the organizer’s connected account. Stripe processing fees, refunds, disputes, reserves, and payout timing are handled on the organizer’s Standard Stripe account under Stripe’s terms. Campaign targets stay visible and do not automatically change.

How do I receive the funds I raise?

FreeFund uses Stripe Connect Standard accounts and direct charges for campaign contributions. The supporter is charged on the organizer’s connected Stripe account, and the organizer’s Stripe balance receives the payment less Stripe processing fees. The organizer is responsible for refunds, disputes, and negative balances under the organizer’s Stripe agreement. FreeFund PRO purchases are separate charges made on FreeFund’s own Stripe account.

When will my money arrive in my bank account?

When live payments begin, Stripe says an initial payout is typically scheduled 7 to 14 days after the first successful payment, but timing can vary by country, industry, risk review, and account configuration. Later payouts follow the connected account’s Stripe payout schedule. View the exact estimated dates in the Stripe Dashboard from FreeFund settings.

What are the fees associated with FreeFund?

FreeFund charges a 0% platform fee on campaign contributions and does not collect an application fee from those payments. Stripe processing fees and account-level charges are deducted from the organizer’s connected Stripe balance. FreeFund receives money only from separate FreeFund purchases, such as PRO, and any other clearly labeled platform transaction.

Do supporters need an account to contribute?

No. We believe in removing all barriers to mutual aid. Anyone can support a campaign instantly as a guest without creating an account.

What is the difference between Flexible and Fixed Funding?

During campaign creation, you will choose a funding type:

• Ongoing: The displayed target stays unchanged, but supporters may continue contributing after it is reached.
• Set target: The displayed target also stays unchanged. This label helps organizers communicate a defined need; it is not all-or-nothing escrow, and contributions are not automatically refunded if the target is not reached.

Can I edit my campaign after launching?

Yes. By navigating to your profile and selecting My Campaigns, you can click "Edit" on any active goal to update your story, adjust the target, or modify reward tiers.

What is FreeFund PRO?

FreeFund PRO is an optional one-time $7 upgrade designed for digital creators. Access lasts for the life of the eligible FreeFund account and the FreeFund service, subject to the Terms of Service, legal requirements, abuse controls, refunds, and product availability. It includes two weekly campaign boosts instead of one, custom campaign and overlay colors, PRO presentation, and advanced stream-overlay animations.

How do the stream overlays work?

If you are a streamer on platforms like Twitch, YouTube, or TikTok LIVE, you can integrate your campaign directly into your broadcast. Open your campaign and click Overlay Studio. Customize your widget (choose between OBS Horizontal or TikTok Vertical layouts), and copy the unique URL into your broadcasting software as a "Browser Source." When you receive a donation, the widget will trigger live, on-screen celebration animations automatically!

Is my personal and financial data secure?

FreeFund does not receive or store full card numbers, bank-routing details, or Stripe identity-verification documents. Stripe handles those payment and payout details. FreeFund does store limited account, campaign, donor-display, Stripe reference, transaction-status, refund, dispute, fraud-prevention, and support information needed to operate the service.
