Campaign Rules

Organizers must be truthful, specific, legally permitted to collect the funds, and prepared to document their claims if FreeFund or Stripe requests verification.

Not currently allowed

• Fundraising on behalf of a registered charity, claims that a contribution is tax deductible, or use of a charity’s name without a separately approved FreeFund charity-compliance program.
• Political candidates, campaigns, committees, lobbying funds, or election-related fundraising.
• Investments, securities, profit sharing, loans, credit repair, debt collection, pooled funds, money transmission, or promises of financial return.
• Illegal goods or services; weapons; controlled substances; gambling; adult sexual services; hate or extremist activity; sanctions evasion; stolen property; impersonation; deceptive medical claims; or content that exploits or endangers minors.
• Nonconsensual intimate imagery, sexualized images of minors, doxxing, threats, harassment, or content that infringes copyright, trademark, privacy, or publicity rights.

Personal and community campaigns

“Community Support” means support for people, families, neighborhoods, projects, mutual aid, or informal community needs. It does not mean FreeFund has verified a nonprofit, issued a charitable receipt, or determined that a contribution is tax deductible.

Rewards

If you offer a reward, you are responsible for lawful fulfillment, product safety, shipping, taxes, refunds, and consumer obligations. FreeFund may remove rewards that create payment-provider or regulatory risk.

Targets

A campaign target is informational. Contributions may exceed the target, and contributions are not automatically refunded merely because a target is not reached. FreeFund does not operate an escrow or all-or-nothing funding model.
